About Shayla

Shayla Shenanigans has been doing drag for over 24 years! Shayla has hosted, performed, produced and hosted 1400+ shows in her lengthy career. Shayla is a comedian, writer, producer, host/MC, and has been on TV, in films and theatre.  Shayla has won countless awards for her work including an award for Best Comedy.

Shayla strives to make people laugh, she believes that laughter can be the best medicine, and through her work and creativity, she has brought smiles to many faces over the years.

Shayla is visually impaired which affects her in many ways. Challenges are meant to be overcome, and anything worth doing is worth doing right with heart and determinization, Shayla has never backed down from a challenge! With her immense joy, creativity, and uniqueness, she has helped dozens of youth within the city of Halifax, most notably taking 14 Drag performers and welcoming them into her family. Kindness, compassion, and a little bit of wackadoodle make up Shayla's character.
